A Late-Night Robbery Gone Wrong

Folks, we’ve got a situation that’ll make you shake your head and wonder what’s happening to our young people these days. On a Sunday night in Philadelphia, a city where honest, hardworking Americans are just trying to live their lives, a 16-year-old kid thought it’d be a good idea to play tough guy with a toy gun.

This teen and his buddy decided to approach a 21-year-old man and his girlfriend on the 2200 block of Emerald Street. It was around 11 p.m., a time when most folks are winding down for the night, not looking to cause trouble. These two punks demanded valuables, probably thinking they were some big-shot criminals. Little did they know, they were about to learn a hard lesson about the real world.

Now, here’s where things get interesting, and where we see the importance of our Second Amendment rights in action. The victim, a law-abiding citizen, was carrying a legal firearm. When push came to shove, he didn’t hesitate to defend himself and his girlfriend.

At this stage, the victim allegedly began to produce items demanded by the robber – but he was also in possession of a legal firearm.

This brave American did what he had to do to protect himself and his loved one. He shot the teenage robber in the leg, effectively ending the threat.

The Dangers of Toy Guns

Here’s the kicker. That gun the teen was waving around? It turned out to be a toy. But in the heat of the moment, with that fake piece pressed against his back, how was the victim supposed to know? As Philadelphia Police Inspector DF Pace put it:

“Having been pressed into the victim’s back, there would have been no way for them to know that.”

What is going on with our kids?
