Conservative internet firebrand Alex Jones has lashed out at Donald Trump for praising his approach to coronavirus vaccines. On his online InfoWars show, Jones said he would “go on the warpath” against the former President after he posted to his Truth Social media account that vaccines created during his Presidency are now used to treat cancer. Trump said it took his administration just nine months to introduce the drug, whereas it would have taken Biden twelve years to do the same.
An incensed Alex Jones responded by saying he loves Donald Trump, but this is “bulls**t.” He added that the vaccines are “biological weapons” and that the American people are “awake” to this. Some Twitter users agreed with Jones and said the issue would lose Trump votes. One person suggested that Mr. Trump’s advisers should distance him from the vaccines, which “have killed hundreds of thousands of people.”
Mr. Jones has a long history of putting forward controversial theories, including his claim that 9/11 was an “inside job” perpetrated by the American government. He also believes that the federal government is actively involved in attempts to control the weather and turn it into a weapon to be used against the American people. In 2013, he insisted that the US Air Force was responsible for flooding in Texas 15 years earlier that caused the deaths of more than 30 people.
Furthermore, he called the Boston Marathon bombing a “false flag” and claimed the US government carried out the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. In 2010, he blamed the government for using chemicals to turn people into homosexuals so they would not have children. He ran into legal trouble in 2022 when he claimed the Sandy Hook school shooting was a hoax. Victims’ families filed a suit against Mr. Jones and were awarded over $1 billion in damages. He later filed for bankruptcy and admitted that his claims about the tragedy were false.
