(RepublicanInformer.com)- President Joe Biden appeared to forget that he is the President of the United States on Tuesday, when he gave a speech about the infrastructure bill and then expressed frustration about supply chain matters, massive inflation and the cost of gas.
The president seemed surprised about the price of gas, as he talked about how families across the country are beginning to pay more. But in the same breath, he praised the “strength” of America’s economy recovery.
“Because of the strength of our economic recovery, American families have been able to buy more products. And – but guess what? They’re not going out to dinner and lunch and going to local bars because of Covid. So what are they doing? They’re staying home and ordering online or buying product. Well, what more people with money buying product and less product to buy, what happens? The supply chain’s the reason. The answer is you guys, and I’ll get to that in a minute, but what happens? Prices go up,” Biden said.
He then wrongly claimed that American families have “a little more breathing room” than they did last year, which isn’t really true. Last year, people were forced to stay at home and were literally not allowed (in many places) to go out and spend their money how they please.
Since then, people have had an extra year to suffer the economic fallout of lockdown – and with prices going up, are struggling more to pay for basic necessities like food and gas.
Biden then said:
“Did you ever think you’d be paying this much for a gallon of gas? In some parts of California they’re paying four dollars and fifty cents a gallon!” he said.
Yes. And it happened on your watch, Joe.
That’s presumably why Biden’s approval ratings are slipping every week.
Take a look at the moment he complained about his own performance as president here:
Biden admits "everything from a gallon of gas to a loaf of bread costs more," then falsely claims "wages are going up."
In reality, prices are rising at the highest rate in 30+ years and real wages are DOWN. pic.twitter.com/7LcfA9BjrB
