(RepublicanInformer.com)- In an interview with Deadline published last Friday, host Bill Maher pushed back against blindly following the advice of Dr. Anthony Fauci and other “experts,” noting that they’ve been wrong “a lot.”
Maher told Deadline he is “over COVID.” He said he wasn’t nearly as scared of the COVID pandemic as he was the reaction to it.
While conceding that the vaccines prevent serious illness and death, Maher noted that if the vaccines don’t prevent someone from transmitting or contracting COVID, “why are we still treating this disease the way we always have?”
Asked if he believes Fauci and the other experts know what they’re doing, Maher said while there have been great advances in medicine, there is still a lot we don’t know about how the human body works.
In a slam against Fauci and the “experts,” Maher said, “don’t sit there in your white coat and tell me, just do what we say. When have we ever been wrong?” Maher noted that they’ve been wrong a lot.
He said when he was a kid “they drilled mercury into my teeth,” something that is no longer done today. He asked if people fifty years from now are going to look back and say, “Oh, yeah, we had it all figured out in 2022,” adding “they will be appalled” by what is happening today.
Maher picked up on many of the same criticisms during the Friday broadcast of his HBO program “Real Time with Bill Maher.” He repeatedly criticized the political Left’s hyper-dramatic response to the pandemic.
He suggested that their over-reaction to COVID has made Democrats look bad, arguing that the so-called Party of Science has frequently embraced things that have nothing to do with science, like wearing a mask when you’re outside or believing the virus can get you while walking into a restaurant, but not when you’re seated at a table.
During his Friday broadcast, Maher’s guest, liberal journalist Bari Weiss, admitted that many of the people who overreacted to COVID, including herself, are now starting to realize how insane their reaction was.
