(Republicaninformer.com)- Josh Alexander, the Catholic schoolboy who claimed that there are only two genders and spoke out against transgender people in the women’s restrooms at the school, has been detained.
The high school student tweeted that he was arrested by Ontario police after trying to enter a classroom in defiance of an exclusion order after being suspended earlier this school year.
-I was recently accused and detained at my Catholic high school for showing up to class after being dismissed for declaring my intention to follow my religious convictions.
He is currently appealing his suspension to the Ontario human rights tribunal.
Josh Alexander, 16, said that St. Joseph’s Catholic High School administration in Renfrew, Ontario, warned him that his continued attendance would be “detrimental to the physical and mental well-being” of transgender kids.
Alexander’s attorney claimed that until he consents “not to use the ‘dead name’ of any transgender student and agreed to exclude himself from two of his afternoon classes because those classes are attended by two transgender students who disapprove of Josh’s religious beliefs,” the school will not permit him to return to the classroom.
According to Alexander, he has never used a student’s last name while transitioning, which is known as “dead naming.” If trans students disagree with Alexander’s religious views, they may want to consider whether they attend a Catholic school—or one that claims to be one.
This event highlights the possibility that Ontario’s publicly financed Catholic school system might be disbanded. Beyond salvation, they follow the same secular gospel as our other public institutions. It has nothing Catholic about it.
What lesson was learned by trans students who oppose Alexander’s religious views and don’t want him in class? It tells kids they are superior to other pupils, possess exceptional abilities, and don’t need to develop conflict resolution skills.
