In response to public outcry, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), which runs a gender clinic, has taken down several blog entries and videos that discussed gender changes in children, including permanent surgical procedures, the Daily Caller News Foundation reports.
Reports show that after some of its training films on children’s gender transitions went viral in September 2022, the CHOP Gender and Sexuality Development Program tightened security in October owing to threats.
CHOP’s website no longer contains resources like videos where clinic employees advocated cross-sex medical treatments for children and urged school workers to keep children’s gender identities concealed from their families. These pages are archived online, but their links redirect to heavily altered pages with certain links removed.
According to internet archives, CHOP’s yearly reports on medicine, outreach, and advocacy were publicly accessible in June 2022 but had to be sought by email in January 2023. The clinic recruited a social worker to assist kids in having “gender-affirming” procedures by collecting testimonials of support and obtaining insurance coverage.
The Chicago-based Lurie Children’s Hospital came under fire for advertising an “LGBTQ sex shop for teens” that offered sexually explicit products. After it was discovered via uncovered records and recordings that Boston minors’ facility had conducted several gender-affirming mastectomies on children, the facility got a bomb threat.
On De-trans Awareness Day, an assembly of de-transitioners and supporters met in Sacramento, California, at the state capital. They gathered to voice their solidarity with the rising number of people who claim to have been damaged beyond repair by the gender business.
Prisha Mosley is one of them; she was taken male hormones when she was a kid and had a double mastectomy when she was 18.
Mosley, now 25, says she feels like a “medical monster” due to the cumulative consequences of her treatment, which include severe vaginal shrinkage that renders tampons useless.
Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), the brutal practice of removing all or part of a woman’s external genitalia, has similar repercussions to the “mutilation” Mosley suffered as a kid.
Mosley is unsure whether she will ever be able to have biological children because of the surgical transformation she underwent.
