Disgraced Chicago Mayor Told To “Pack Your Bags”

(Republicaninformer.com)- Disgraced Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was told to pack her bags after losing her reelection bid in the Democratic primary, according to Bongino Report. Lightfoot reportedly made history as the first black and openly gay female mayor of the windy city but also made history as the first mayor to lose reelection in 40 years. Lightfoot trailed behind contenders Paul Vallas and Brandon Johnson with only 17% of the vote.

The primary was marked by fierce criticism of Lightfoot’s handling of the city in the last four years, including the rampant crime. During his victory speech, Vallas reiterated his promise to bring back public safety.

But Lightfoot is being told to go home early, according to The New York Post. During a city council meeting last week, journalist William Kelly, who has been a staunch critic of the mayor, told her to “get the hell out of my city.” He lambasted her for closing schools, businesses, and churches, and accused her of dragging the city lower than he had ever seen as “someone who was born and raised on the south side of Chicago.”

Kelly also sued Lightfoot last year and criticized her for revoking his press credentials which he alleged was “retaliation.”

During her term, Lightfoot was seen debating the validity of crime statistics brought to her by reporters. But the homicide rate increased by 40% since she was first elected. That rate reached the peak in 2021 when 800 murders were recorded in Chicago, representing the highest in 25 years.

Vallas has pledged to remove the handcuffs off of police officers so that they are better able to do their job on foot and in vehicle pursuits. He acknowledged that crime is rampant and morale amongst officers is low. He has neglected to use the word “defund” while campaigning and alleged that he does not want to cut the number of officers on the streets.
