(RepublicanInformer.com)- Recently leaked documents from the Walt Disney Company show just how far “critical race theory” and left-wing ideology have permeated into corporate America.
Whistleblower documents obtained by The City Journal’s Christopher Rufo reveal details on a “diversity and inclusion” training called “Reimagine Tomorrow” now being offered by Disney to its employees.
Disney employees who spoke to Rufo on condition of anonymity shared that they believed the program had “become deeply politicized and engulfed parts of the company in racial conflict.”
According to Rufo, the program is built around a series of modules on “antiracism,” the first of which is “Allyship for Race Consciousness” which teaches employees to “take ownership of educating [themselves] about structural anti-Black racism,” and that they should “not rely on [their] Black colleagues to educate [them],” because it is “emotionally taxing.”
Other exercises such as “How to Tell If You Have White Fragility” and lists such as “75 Things White People Can Do for Racial Justice” round out the curriculum based in challenging the established American history—ironically, a topic that the company’s namesake was deeply committed to upholding.
More of the language is centered around teaching that the US has a “long history of systemic racism and transphobia,” and that white employees must “work through feelings of guilt, shame, and defensiveness to understand what is beneath them and what needs to be healed.”
Participants are further encouraged to fill out a checklist to determine their privilege with options like, “I am white,” “I am heterosexual,” I am a man,” “I still identity as the gender I was born in,” “I have never been raped,” “I don’t rely on public transportation,” and “I have never been called a terrorist.”
Of course, this isn’t Disney’s first sojourn into woke politics. Its recent entertainment offerings increasingly reflect its change in internal culture. Just last year, Disney announced that it would include its first bisexual character, which came to the Disney Channel show, “The Owl House.”
Earlier this year, Disney canned popular Mandalorian actress Gina Carano for sharing a Twitter meme comparing political correctness and silencing to the actions of Nazi Germany. Efforts to “cancel” Carano had been ongoing for months since social media activists picked up on her conservative viewpoints.
The direction of the Walt Disney Company is a fate few could have predicted—least of all, Walt himself.
