Famous Star Reveals She’s Privately Battling Cancer

Amy Dowden, 32, and star of the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing, found a lump in her breast the day before her honeymoon. The star revealed the shocking news of her severe diagnosis last week. She has cancer.

Brave as ever, Amy asked her doctor, right after hearing the awful test results, how long it would be before she could get out on the dance floor.

She posted on Instagram that she had some news that wasn’t easy to share. She said she was just diagnosed with breast cancer but assured her fans that they wouldn’t see her sitting on the sidelines for long.

Her fellow Strictly Come Dancing celebrities have been tweeting words of encouragement since her diagnosis.

Diane Buswell said the “Welsh Dragon” would be fighting this diagnosis.

Vito Coppola wrote that everyone was at “her side.”

Oti Mabuse, a former Strictly co-star, told Amy she adored her and that she is “such a great woman.”She sent her love, power, and strength.

The Welsh actress tied the knot with her dance partner Ben Jones in July 2018.

A lump in her right breast surfaced before their April flight to the Maldives for a delayed honeymoon.

When she got back, Amy went to her family doctor and was warned to “prepare for the worst.”

She will not know what treatment to expect until the MRI and biopsy results return. She has been told that surgical intervention is required. Amy says she wants to keep a positive outlook after physicians told her they found the problem early on. She said her mother had thyroid and breast cancer when she was younger.

Amy has also been very open and honest about her struggle with Crohn’s disease.

Amy’s chronic intestinal problem was first discovered as a toddler, but she didn’t discuss it publicly until 2019.

She is a fighter.
