(RepublicanInformer.com)- On Wednesday, the top GOP official in Nevada was served with a search warrant by FBI officers.
According to a local TV report, the FBI seized Michael McDonald’s cellphone. McDonald is the Nevada Republican Party’s chairman.
Insiders claim that the warrant McDonald obtained was associated with the FBI’s continuing investigation into claims that the late President Trump attempted to persuade states to submit alternate slates of electors in 2020 to sway the outcome of the election that he lost.
Agents reportedly took Michael McDonald’s cell phone as part of their investigation into a purported phony elector operation that was allegedly started after the 2020 presidential election.
In a symbolic event devoid of any legal significance performed in Carson City in December 2020, the six Nevada Republican Party electors signed documents indicating their support for former President Donald Trump. This corresponded with the official state-sanctioned tally on December 14, 2020.
James DeGraffenreid, the state party secretary who also signed the paper, was the subject of a second search warrant, but FBI investigators could not find him on Wednesday.
The GOP event’s video has subsequently been removed. The bogus certificates, which purported to validate the state’s electoral votes for Trump, were provided to the television station KLAS in January.
The certificate we received from the National Archives is very different from the official state-sealed one.
It read: We, the undersigned, the duly elected and qualified electors for president and vice president of the United States of America from the State of Nevada, do hereby certify six electoral votes for Trump.
Following the gathering, Michael McDonald, head of the Nevada GOP, released a statement explaining why the party’s electors met in Carson City: “There are continuing legal fights aiming to invalidate the election results.”
We are collecting information concerning your participation in the alleged elector slate casting votes for Donald Trump and, to the extent appropriate, your role in the events of January 6, 2021, according to the subpoenas that were issued in late January.
