Republican Congressman Troy Nehls has slammed former Speaker of the Hosue Paul Ryan for his recent comments on former President Donald Trump during a recent Fox News interview with host Neil Cavuto. In the interview, Ryan, a former Trump supporter, criticized Trump for his character and claimed Trump put himself “above” the U.S. Consitution.

On Tuesday, Ryan sat down with Fox News host Neil Cavuto during the Your World segment to cover Trump as the presumptive Republican nominee for the 2024 Presidential election. In the interview, Ryan stated that he had voted for Trump in 2016, hoping that a “different” kind of person would take office. Ryan continued by stating that a president’s character is an important issue while referring that Trump had put himself above the U.S. Constitution during his presidency and in recent times. Ryan concluded his statement by stating that those character qualities are “unfit” for the presidency.

Host Cavuto then asked Ryan what made him turn against Trump, guessing if it had been the January 6th Capitol Riots. Ryan reiterated that his reasoning for not supporting Trump was that Ryan felt the former President had placed himself above the law. However, Ryan made it clear to audiences that he does not support President Biden.

Insert Troy Nehls, a Republican representative from Texas, and also a strong Trump supporter. Following Ryan’s interview with Cavuto, Nehls gave his unfiltered reaction to the comments to CNN host Manu Raju. Raju stated that Nehls stated that Paul Ryan was a “piece of garbage” and that the former House Speaker should be exiled from the Republican party. Nehls continued his fury by letting Ryan know he should not call himself a conservative by “spitting” in the face of the leader of the party and that Ryan should, “grow up”.

Raju and Nehls spoke last month as Nehls stated everything in the HOR is in the best interests of Trump.
