(RepublicanInformer.com)- According to a recent national survey conducted by the Winston Group/Winning the Issues, Republicans are favored over Democrats especially on economic issues.
Overall, the survey found Republicans are leading Democrats in the generic congressional ballot 46 percent to 44 percent. And while that is a narrow lead, when it comes to economic issues, the Republicans are outpacing Democrats significantly more.
A large plurality of respondents said the economy was the most important issue. And in the survey, when it comes to handling the economy, Republicans have a significant edge over Democrats.
Twenty-seven percent of respondents listed the economy as the most important issue. Healthcare came in a distant second at 11 percent, followed closely by immigration at 8 percent.
What’s more, 50 percent of respondents believe the country’s economy is headed in the wrong direction, while only 38 percent believe it is on track.
When asked which party would be better at dealing with gas prices, Republicans had a nine-point advantage over Democrats, 45 percent to 36 percent.
On jobs, respondents favored Republicans 45 percent to 41 percent. Republicans also led on taxes (45 percent to 39 percent) and, unsurprisingly, respondents had far more confidence in the Republican Party’s ability to deal with inflation (46 percent to 34 percent).
Likewise, respondents favored Republicans over Democrats when it came to the issue of crime (45 percent to 35 percent).
Now, you might want to take this survey with a grain of salt.
Unlike every other poll that shows President Biden underwater, the Winston Group/Winning the Issues survey shows Biden, with 46 percent approval and only 44 percent disapproval, giving Biden a net approval of 2 points.
In November, Republicans are poised to take back the House and have a good chance of regaining the Senate.
This survey seems to indicate that focusing on the economy would be a winning strategy for Republicans heading into November.
