Hunter Biden’s Laptop Scandal Comes To An End As Court Dismisses Case

Hunter Biden’s laptop lawsuit against Garrett Ziegler collapsed in California courts amid claims of financial hardship. The former First Son’s legal maneuver to dismiss the case due to money troubles raises questions about his true motives just days before he was scheduled to be deposed. The case is over, and now he can never refile it.

At a glance:

• Hunter Biden won dismissal of his laptop hacking lawsuit against Garrett Ziegler after claiming financial hardship

• The judge ruled Biden cannot refile the case in the future, permanently ending the litigation

• Biden claimed his memoir and artwork sales had dried up, leaving him unable to afford continued legal battles

• He cited having to relocate after wildfires, though photos showed his Malibu home largely undamaged

• The dismissal came just days before Biden was scheduled for a deposition on March 10

Biden’s Convenient Financial Woes

Federal Judge Hernán Vera of California partially granted Hunter Biden’s request to drop his lawsuit against former Trump White House aide Garrett Ziegler. The dismissal came with a significant caveat – Biden cannot refile the case in the future, permanently closing this legal avenue. And while it’s technically what he asked for, it’s not the end result he wanted.

Biden had sued Ziegler for allegedly hacking his infamous laptop, but suddenly claimed financial hardship just before facing a scheduled March 10 deposition. The former First Son told the court his memoir and artwork weren’t generating sufficient income to continue the legal battle.

Ziegler did not hack his laptop, but instead access the files contained on it after Biden abandoned the laptop at his computer store for an extended period of time.

The financial distress claim included assertions that Biden’s family had to relocate after Pacific Palisade wildfires affected their Malibu residence. However, photographs revealed Biden’s $20,000-per-month rental home remained largely intact while surrounding properties were destroyed.

This convenient timing raised suspicions about Biden’s true motives for abandoning the lawsuit. Some speculated the financial urgency might have been exaggerated and potentially connected to plans for international travel to South Africa.

Legal Strategy Backfires

Ziegler vigorously opposed the dismissal, as he sought to recover legal fees from Biden who had initiated the lawsuit. The former White House aide had maintained his innocence regarding the laptop hacking allegations from the beginning.

Hunter Biden’s legal woes extend beyond this dismissed lawsuit. The former President’s son has previous criminal convictions for gun possession while using drugs and tax evasion, though he received a presidential pardon from his father for the latter.

It’s now a matter of historical record that the laptop was, in fact, the property of Hunter Biden – and not Russian “disinformation.”
