Kamala Harris Forced Into Isolation Over COVID Diagnosis

(RepublicanInformer.com)- After returning from a week-long vacation to California, Vice President Kamala Harris tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, the White House announced.
Harris announced that she received a positive COVID-19 test result. She has no symptoms and wants to continue to isolate herself and adhere to CDC recommendations.
“I’m thankful to have been vaccinated and given a booster,” she said.
In a previous statement, Kirsten Allen, the vice president’s press secretary, stated that Harris tested positive for Covid-19 in fast and PCR testing. Allen noted that Harris would isolate herself and continue to work from the vice president’s mansion.
She has not maintained close contact with either the President or the First Lady because of their different recent travel schedules.
She intends to adhere to CDC recommendations and the advice of her doctors.
“The Vice President will return to the White House if the test results come back negative,” Allen said.
According to the daily guidance issued to reporters on Monday evening, Harris was set to attend her intelligence briefing at 10:15 a.m. ET on Tuesday at the White House with President Joe Biden.
According to a White House spokesperson, she did not participate in any activities or meetings on Tuesday held at the White House.
Paxlovid, an antiviral coronavirus therapy, is being administered to Harris.
Allen tweeted that following consultation with her physicians, the Vice President was prescribed and has begun taking Paxlovid.
Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House’s Covid-19 response coordinator, told reporters earlier Tuesday that he was unsure whether Harris had been prescribed the antiviral medication, stressing that he is not Harris’s physician.
Paxlovid is available only with an emergency use permission from the United States Food and Drug Administration to treat mild to moderate Covid-19 in persons 12 and older who are at high risk of developing a life-threatening disease from the condition. It is only available with a prescription from a doctor.
A White House official said that contact tracking is now happening. Officials would notify the necessary individuals.
The office has not found any close contacts among its employees as of Tuesday afternoon.
