Democrats are up in arms as the FBI labels attacks on Tesla vehicles “domestic terrorism” and forms a special task force to investigate. The controversy intensifies as Rep. Daniel Goldman accuses the Justice Department of being politically weaponized due to Elon Musk’s relationship with President Trump.
At a glance:
• The FBI has launched a specialized task force to investigate over 80 arson and vandalism incidents targeting Tesla vehicles and infrastructure
• FBI Director Kash Patel has officially classified these attacks as “domestic terrorism,” with perpetrators potentially facing 20-year prison sentences
• Democrat Rep. Daniel Goldman claims the FBI’s response represents political weaponization of the DOJ, citing Musk’s relationship with Trump
• The “Tesla Takedown” movement claims to be peaceful while protesting against Musk, whom they accuse of undermining democracy
• President Trump and other officials have defended Tesla and condemned the attacks, calling for harsh penalties for those responsible
FBI Launches Task Force as Tesla Attacks Escalate
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has established a specialized task force to combat what officials are calling “domestic terrorism” against Tesla. Working alongside the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the FBI aims to address the growing number of violent incidents targeting Tesla vehicles, charging stations, and showrooms across the country.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the agency’s commitment to the investigation, stating, “The FBI has been investigating the increase in violent activity toward Tesla, and over the last few days, we have taken additional steps to crack down and coordinate our response.” At least 80 cases of vandalism or arson involving Tesla have been reported in the United States and Canada, with 48 incidents occurring this month alone.
Law enforcement officials discovered multiple incendiary devices at a Tesla showroom in Austin, Texas, highlighting the serious nature of these attacks. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino delivered a stern warning to perpetrators, simply stating, “Justice is coming.”

Democrat Backlash and Political Motivations
New York Representative Daniel Goldman has sparked controversy by suggesting the FBI’s response represents political weaponization of the Department of Justice. Goldman’s criticism centers on the relationship between President Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, implying that this connection influenced the formation of the task force.
But Kash Patel knows the truth.
“This is domestic terrorism,” Patel declared unequivocally, rejecting any suggestion that the FBI’s actions were politically motivated. The task force is actively investigating “Dogeque.st,” a website allegedly doxxing Tesla owners and locations, which briefly went offline but has resurfaced on the dark web.
A group calling itself “Tesla Takedown” has been organizing protests against Musk, accusing him of undermining democracy through his various business ventures and political activities. While the group insists their movement is nonviolent, law enforcement has noted a disturbing correlation between planned protests and subsequent criminal acts against Tesla property.
What is the White House meant to do? Nothing?
