When a reporter asked White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about President Biden’s reservations about Senator Menendez attending a confidential briefing on Ukraine, she stumbled over her words.
In a superseding indictment filed last month, Democratic Senator Bob Menendez was accused of serving as a foreign agent.
According to the superseding indictment, a federal grand jury in Manhattan found that Menendez gave the Egyptian government classified material and conducted other activities without disclosing them. In September, federal prosecutors revealed that Democrat U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey and his wife have been indicted on allegations of bribery and corruption.
Bob Menendez and his wife Nadine were indicted on three charges by federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York.
Cash, gold, mortgage payments, employment, automobiles, and other valuables totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars were among the bribes collected by the Senator and his wife. According to US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams, this was done because he protected and enriched businessmen in New Jersey for the benefit of the Egyptian government.
According to Damian Williams, Nadine Menendez received a “no-show” job, a Mercedes, and other valuables.
Special agents recovered $500,000 in cash stashed in envelopes inside closets. The Senator’s jacket pockets were stuffed with some of the money. Williams stated in a press conference back in September that several of the cash envelopes had Daibes’ fingerprints and DNA on them.
On Wednesday, CNN reporter Manu Raju questioned Menendez’s attendance at a secret briefing in light of allegations that he had helped a foreign government.
Menendez blasted Manu Raju and said he was just creating headlines. He said a charge is merely a charge, not a fact.
Considering the allegations against him, a reporter wanted to know if the White House was worried about Senator Menendez attending a secret briefing.
I don’t know what to say, Karine Jean-Pierre stuttered.
KJP repeated “uh” so many times it was hard to count.
