Lara Trump Reveals Family Plan To Run GOP

If elected as co-chair of the GOP’s governing body, Lara Trump plans to involve her family in the Republican National Committee (RNC). During an interview, an audio clip revealed Lara Trump stating that Donald Trump Jr., her brother-in-law, would also participate in the committee’s activities. Although the origin of the audio clip remains unconfirmed, Lara Trump’s comments suggest her intention to incorporate family members into the RNC’s operations.

This announcement comes after former President Donald Trump publicly endorsed Lara Trump, who served as a senior adviser to his campaign in 2020. Trump praised Lara for her communication skills and dedication to the ideals of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement. Additionally, he endorsed Michael Whaley, the North Carolina GOP chair, for the position of RNC Chairman.

These endorsements followed a report by The New York Times, which cited anonymous sources claiming that the current chair, Ronna McDaniel, would step down after the South Carolina primary. However, McDaniel has not confirmed this speculation. According to RNC spokesperson Keith Schipper, any decisions regarding the chairmanship will be made after the South Carolina primary.

If Lara Trump assumes a leadership role within the RNC, the committee’s financial management may change. In a recent Newsmax interview, Lara Trump addressed reports of alleged poor financial management within the RNC. She pledged to prioritize the committee’s primary responsibility of electing Donald J. Trump as the President of the United States. She vowed to allocate every penny to this cause and eliminate unnecessary expenses like extravagant spending on flowers.

Former RNC Chairman Michael Steele, however, challenged this viewpoint. In an MSNBC interview, Steele, who chaired the RNC from 2009 to 2011 and endorsed Democrat Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, emphasized that the RNC’s primary role is to raise funds for all Republican candidates and establish the necessary infrastructure for their campaigns. According to Steele, Lara Trump should focus on organizing and coordinating state parties and territories within the Republican family, providing them with a platform to articulate the party’s beliefs.

As the future of the RNC remains uncertain, Lara Trump’s potential influence, if elected, could shape the committee’s priorities and financial management. However, there are differing opinions on the role and responsibilities of the RNC, highlighting the ongoing discussions within the Republican Party regarding its direction and purpose.
