Man Arrested After Shooting Family Dog Over Infidelity Argument

A southwest Florida man is charged with aggravated animal cruelty after shooting and severely injuring his family’s pet dog. 41-year-old Farhad Deiham shot the family’s pet pitbull mix, Louie, after an argument with his fiance over Deihman’s alleged infidelity. During the confrontation, Deiham allegedly threatened to shoot everyone in his entire home, which included two children.

Surveillance footage outside the home captured the entire incident on film, where Deiham can be seen outside shooting the dog. The footage captured the horrific moment when Louie the dog was shot, following him and falling to the ground screaming. When police arrived on the scene, they found the dog hiding covered in blood, that was gushing from his face and neck.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Department held a press conference the day following the shooting, regarding the incident. Sherriffs stated that Deiham does not have a violent criminal history, but he will be added to the animal abuse registry, and will not be allowed to own a dog for up to five years if convicted.

The press conference however turned joyful as Louie the dog made an appearance with Lee County Sherriff officials. Officials stated that after the shooting, Louie was taken to a pet hospital where the pitbull mix was given immediate care and was expected to make a full recovery. Louie was described as loving and sweet to everyone who came in contact with him.

Louie appeared healthy and healing at the press conference, where Sheriff Carmine Marceno gave further comments on Deiham and the situation. Sheriff Marceno made it clear that a man like Deiham is a man with no heart, and sees animals as just animals instead of amazing creatures, prompting him to commit the shooting. Marceno further explained that Deiham may have cheated on his significant other, but he would not be allowed to get away as easily in this situation. Louie was then praised for his bravery
