(RepublicanInformer.com)- Last week before former Senator Bob Dole’s memorial at the Capitol, the Elizabeth Dole Foundation cut its ties with its longtime event planner for his role in helping to organize the “Stop the Steal” rally on January 6.
Tim Unes, the founder and president of Event Strategies in Washington DC, has had a longstanding relationship with the Dole family. But because Unes was subpoenaed by the bogus House select committee investigating the January 6 riot, the Dole family dropped him like a hot rock.
Unes not only lost the opportunity to help plan Bob Dole’s DC send-off, more than likely his Washington DC business won’t survive this “guilt by association” either.
And who brought Unes’ subpoena to the Dole family’s attention?
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s staff that’s who.
According to the New York Times, since Congress is “still reeling” from January 6, representatives of Senator Mitch McConnell “raised the issue” with the Dole family. The Dole family agreed to limit Unes’ role in the Capitol service for Senator Dole and said Unes would not be attending the ceremony.
If you thought calling the January 6 select committee a “witch hunt” was hyperbole, think again. This man’s life and livelihood are being destroyed, not because he committed a crime, not because he was involved in the riot at the Capitol, but because the witch hunters are conflating a legal political rally with the riot.
The select committee contacted Unes in late September because the rally permits for “Stop the Steal” listed him as “stage manager.” So what? The “Stop the Steal” rally was a legal free speech event for which coordinators secured the proper permits from the city.
But it doesn’t matter now, does it?
Steve Schwab, the CEO of the Elizabeth Dole Foundation released a statement to the New York Times informing them that he notified Elizabeth Dole of Unes’ “alleged involvement in the events of Jan. 6, 2021.” He said Mrs. Dole “was previously unaware of his participation” so she terminated him.
During his show last Friday, Tucker Carlson shredded Mitch McConnell’s office for destroying Tim Unes for his role in a completely legal and fully permitted rally.
