Many political issues dominate contemporary American politics. One area in which Democrats and left wing allies continue to push for a total transformation of federal law is the issue of gun control and gun ownership. While Democrats have long claimed they seek to ban guns on the grounds of “public safety”, it appears that even in most gun restricted and right infringing progressive states, these policies continue to prove that they simply do not work. A decline in morality, not an increase in firearms, is arguably the true culprit behind the rise in violent crimes in America.
Nonetheless, crime and gun violence remains a serious problem in the nation In the city of Sacramento in perhaps the most left wing state in America (California), a ten year old stole a firearm from his father and killed a fellow child. A boy stole the firearm from his fathers car, and then shot and killed another ten year old near an apartment complex in the Foothill Farms area of the city. In another recent development, a man in Texas murdered a woman and hid her body in a closet.
In Missouri, a man was recently indicted after allegedly holding a woman captive in his basement while torturing her and committing sexual violence. He also murdered another woman previously. Timothy Haslett is a prime suspect in the murder of a 36 year old named Jaynie Crosdale, whose body was found in a 30 gallon barrel by Kayakers in the Missouri River. In October 2022, another women escaped from Hasletts basement and appeared a neighbors door wearing only a garbage bag, duct tape, and a locked collar. The woman was remarkably somehow able to flee after a lengthy period of captivity when Haslett was away taking his child to school. Ultimately Haslett is charged with several crimes, including murder. He was previously charged with sodomy, second degree assault, and child endangerment among several others.
