(RepublicanInformer.com)- Utah Senator Mitt Romney, the so-called Republican who repeatedly sided with extremist Democrats against former President Donald Trump before, during, and after his presidency, has called for more free nations to join with the United States in a diplomatic boycott of next year’s Winter Olympic Games.
And his comments sound great at face value, but it turns out that Romney might already be ready to give up on his support of a boycott.
Reports suggest that Romney, who lead the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, believes that a trip to the Chinese capital city of Beijing may be necessary to help Utah make another bid to bring the Winter Games back to the state – hopefully in 2030 or 2034.
He really just wants an excuse to get an all-expenses-paid trip to China, doesn’t he?
During an interview on “Outside the Lines” on ESPN, Romney said that he has not spoken to the leaders of the Salt Lake City-Utah Committee for the Olympic games about their intention to send a delegation to the Beijing Olympic Games, and that he believes they have a good reason to go – despite President Joe Biden’s planned boycott.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox, however, has said that the trip should be discussed, saying that bidders must “recalibrate, have a conversation, and understand exactly what that boycott means” for Utah.
Why can nobody be clear about this?
Romney should have stopped when he said that other free nations should join the United States in a diplomatic boycott.
That is the only appropriate solution when China has as many as one million Uyghur Muslims and other ethnic minorities forced into slave labor and concentration camps.
