National Intelligence Director Says China Is Using “Gene Editing” To Boost Military

(RepublicanInformer.com)- In a year that’s seen an outbreak of a new virus from China, the United States government revealed evidence of UFOs, and an election was compromised by the most shocking fraud in American history, it should probably come as no surprise that China is reportedly using “gene editing” to boost its military.

That’s just the most 2020 thing ever, right?

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe announced on Sunday that the Chinese Communist Party is using gene editing to create a stronger and more resilient army.

“It’s one of the things our intelligence shows that China is doing…the People’s Republic of China has 2 million strong in its military, and it’s trying to make them stronger enough, you know, gene editing,” he said.

As if it’s the most normal thing in the world!

Ratcliffe said it was “just one of the ways” that China is “trying to essentially dominate the planet and set the rules in the world order.”

The National Intelligence Director also referenced the constant human rights violations by the Chinese government, and their refusal to reverse course on several massive violations – including concentration camps – that have drawn global criticism and condemnation.

“We’ve seen what they’ve done to the Uighurs; we’ve seen what they’ve done in Hong Kong. It’s about putting the state first, and that is the exact opposite of what has always made America great,” he said. “Individual liberties, freedoms, free enterprise. Those things are all at stake if China dominates.”

As the very real possibility of Joe Biden becoming the next president looms, the Trump administration is ramping up the pressure on China to change its ways. In recent days, the State Department announced that officials from the Chinese Communist Party would no longer be eligible to obtain visas to enter the United States and that five cultural exchange programs between the U.S. and China would be terminated on the basis that they served as “soft power propaganda” for the Chinese Communist Party.

Ratcliffe expanded on the gene-editing story, describing how the Chinese government has “even conducted human testing on members of the People’s Liberation Army in hope of developing soldiers with biologically enhanced capabilities.”

“There are no ethical boundaries to Beijing’s pursuit of power,” he added.

In 2018, a Chinese researcher also used CRISPR gene-editing technology to change the DNA of embryos conceived by seven couples – a technology that is not used on humans in the Western world for ethical reasons.

Last year, Wilson Vorndick and Elsa Kania also wrote about how the Chinese Communist Party was “pursuing military applications for biology and looking into promising intersections with other disciplines, including brain science, supercomputing, and artificial intelligence.”

Ratcliffe also said recently that Washington “should also be prepared” and that leaders need to “work across partisan divided to understand the threat, speak about it openly, and take action to address it.”

After spending the whole of 2020 opposing measures taken by President Donald Trump to pressure China into changing its ways…does it seem likely that the Democrats will ever be willing to do that?
