NYT And Washington Post Is Being Audited By Pulitzer Board Over Fake “Collusion” Stories

(RepublicanInformer.com)- The Pulitzer Prize Board has announced that it has decided to uphold the honors it presented in 2018 to The New York Times and The Washington Post for their coverage of the now-debunked assertion that the Trump campaign cooperated with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election.

The board, whose award has been widely regarded as the most prestigious honor in the field of journalism for many years, stated in a news release that it had evaluated requests concerning the reports, including one from former President Donald Trump.

Trump has threatened to file a lawsuit against the board if the board does not revoke the prizes awarded to the two publications.

After receiving questions regarding the reports, the Pulitzer Board decided to set up two separate investigations to look into the matter. These reviews were conducted after the reporting staff of both newspapers were awarded the 2018 National Reporting prize.

The board said that the independent reviews concurred in their conclusions, that no passages or headlines, contentions, or assertions in any of the winning submissions were discredited by facts that emerged after the conferring of the prizes.

Trump blasted the board in a statement published on Monday on Truth Social. He said the board “has wiped away whatever credibility it left with its response.

Trump referred to the reports as “outrageous fake news” and stated that the Pulitzer Board was “running cover for the biggest reporting failure in modern history: the fake Russia Russia Russia collusion hoax.”

In addition to his statement, he said that the publications should “do the honorable thing” and hand back the prizes they were awarded.

Trump is correct. How can journalists win awards for their “outstanding” coverage of a story that turned out to be a complete lie?

How did the Gray Lady and WAPO miss the fact that it was Hillary that paid for the fake dossier? This was in the ether since day one.

The laughable part of this is the Pulitzer Prize board saying that their two independent investigators reached the same conclusion. You don’t say? Did anyone expect a different outcome?

Who did they hire to investigate, The New York Times and The Washington Post?
