PBS Aired Curious George Instead of January 6th Committee, Report Finds

(RepublicanInformer.com)- Many PBS stations skipped Monday’s hearing by the House committee probing the Jan. 6 attack on the United States Capitol and instead aired children’s programming.

The Washington Post reported on Wednesday that children’s shows such as Curious George were screened in place of the committee session. The hearing that day began just after 10 a.m., but the hearing on June 9 occurred in primetime and was shown on cable news and other networks.

Reports show PBS stations aired children’s programs, including those in Wyoming, Michigan, Georgia, New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina, and Arizona. Sesame Street, Donkey Hodie, and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood were aired, while Monday’s hearing was restricted to online streaming.
Wyoming PBS station manager Terry Dugas told the Washington Post that they have a commitment to the parents in Wyoming to provide a safe harbor on our primary channel for their children during the day. He informed the publication that as of Tuesday, his station had no complaints.
The Washington Post underlined the historical relevance of not airing Monday’s session compared to hearings on another historical event. They suggested that in the early 1970s, public television stations established themselves as a significant news source by showing hundreds of hours of another congressional investigation, the Senate Watergate hearings.

But the Washington Post doesn’t understand that, unlike in the 70s, thousands of news sources are now available for the public to select. It makes no sense for every channel to show the same program.
Former Representative Thaddeus G. McCotter (R-MI) had some opinions concerning January 6 committee members Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) in his American Greatness piece.

McCotter wondered if Cheney and Kinzinger had considered if their useful ignorance on the committee made them unwitting collaborators in covering up the Democrats’ planned coup against President Trump. What about their continued unscrupulous and perhaps criminal use of the police and surveillance powers of the federal government against their opponents?
Do they know that even when Donald Trump is gone, their dishonor will remain?
