Pentagon Insider Says Putin Could Act Any Day Now

( Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby warned on Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin has a host of different options to choose from when it comes to the possible invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.

Speaking to MSNBC, Kirby said that the Russian leader could order his troops to invade Ukraine with “little to no warning” and that it could happen “any day now.

Speaking to Andrea Mitchell, Kirby said that Putin has many options available to him because he is continuing to add to his military arsenal, sending more troops to the border with Ukraine and even stocking up on medical supplies.

“Even just over the course of the weekend, he has added more force and more capability to that border with Ukraine and in Belarus as well, and of course the maritime readiness that he has established in the Black Sea and elsewhere in the med,” he said.

Kirby added that his military is growing stronger and more prepared, and they are even performing military exercises on the border.

On Thursday, President Joe Biden said that the threat of a Russian invasion is now “very high” after a Ukrainian government official said that “multiple shelling incidents” that occurred on Thursday morning in eastern Ukraine were a “false-flag” operation designed to discredit the Ukrainian government.

President Putin has long been accused of looking for any excuse to invade Ukraine, and some intelligence sources have said that Putin may even be looking to perform false flag operations to justify an incursion into Ukrainian territory.

One of the shelling incidents saw a kindergarten in Ukraine attacked. It was also described by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has a “false-flag operation designed to discredit the Ukrainians, designed to create a pretest, a spurious provocation for Russian action.”

President Biden also warned that the invasion could happen in the “next days.”
