(RepublicanInformer.com)- Radical left-wing Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who has for years been criticized for making anti-Semitic remarks, said during an interview with Alexi McCammond for Axios on Monday that she plans to push Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden even further left on policy.
The Minnesota representative also called on the Democratic nominee to only appoint progressives to his cabinet, amid reports that the former vice president was considering appointing Never Trump Republicans to his cabinet should he win in November.
“We will have a cohort of progressives that are very clear about their objectives for wanting the implementation of, you know, Medicare For All and a Green New Deal and raising the minimum wage and not allowing for fracking,” Omar said.
When McCammond pushed Omar on the claim, asking why voters should choose Joe Biden to implement radical leftist policies that he has historically not supported, Omar said she expects Biden to “act accordingly” on the disconnect between himself and his radical left-wing voters and supporters.
McCammond asked Omar how she feels about being one of several existing radical progressive members of Congress, and what she thinks about the power she will have to push a possible Biden administration to act on the policies they support.
“You know, a president is only as successful as his collaboration is with Congress, and we will have a cohort of progressives that are very clear about their objectives for wanting the implementation of Medicare for all, and the Green New Deal, and basically the minimum wage and not allowing for fracking,” Omar said.
“We know that the policies that we advocate for are most popular with the American people,” Omar said.
McCammond also read out a quote from President Trump, in which he suggested that Joe Biden was a trojan horse for the radical left and that he wouldn’t really be calling the shots.
“I know that um for them we’ve become the bogeyman of the election, but it’s because of two things. One, it’s because we are not backing down in holding the administration and the Republicans accountable and calling their hypocrisy out,” she said. “But we also resonate with the challenges that everyday Americans are having.”
So, word soup, basically.
At least it’s more comprehendible that what Joe Biden has to say these days, though.
