Ron DeSantis Says The People Of China Are Right

( The Biden administration might be too afraid to speak out against China’s Zero COVID policy or voice support for the Chinese people protesting against them, but Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is that kind of coward.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Governor DeSantis slammed China’s Zero COVID policy and said the protesters are “right” to speak out against the “draconian” lockdowns and the human rights abuses of the Chinese Communist Party.

The Republican firebrand described China’s COVID policies as “unscientific,” saying they violate the “people’s liberties.”

Blasting the Communist regime for its “maniacal desire to exert total control over its population,” DeSantis said its Zero COVID policy was only a “pretext” to tyrannize the people.

He called for China’s “draconian COVID policies” to be placed on “the ash heap of history where they belong.”

Protests erupted in China after an apartment building under COVID lockdown in the capital city of Xingjiang province caught fire, killing ten people.

When news of the fire spread via social media, students throughout China organized wakes for the victims and other victims of China’s Zero-COVID policy. On university campuses, students began putting up posters and spray-painting graffiti demanding freedom and remembering the victims of the fire.

By last Sunday, the demonstrations over the country’s Zero-COVID policy had spread to about 20 provinces throughout China. The situation turned violent in several cities with police clashing with protesters.

The Biden administration, fearful of angering Beijing, has only offered generic support for “the right of peaceful protests.”

When directly asked for the president’s position on China’s Zero COVID policies during a Monday press briefing, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that the president “recognizes that in many countries around the world, COVID is still an issue.”

And on Wednesday, Kirby told Fox & Friends that the White House would not take sides in the ongoing protests.
