(RepublicanInformer.com)- During a press conference held in Orlando on Monday, popular Republican Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis said that the recent tragic attack at the Waukesha Christmas Parade may have been influenced by the way the media wrongly portrayed the actions of teenager Kyle Rittenhouse during his recently trial.
Rittenhouse killed two people in self defense during a far-left riot in Kenosha last year, and only three days after he was acquitted, Darrell Brooks Jr. plowed through a crowd of people at the Christmas parade in Milwaukee and killed and injured dozens of people.
Brooks is accused of driving his SUV straight into the parade of purpose on November 21, and is charged with six counts of first-degree intentional homicide. While the police technically haven’t linked the Rittenhouse case to this recent incident, DeSantis suggested that it “may have been in response to what happened with Kyle Rittenhouse.”
Not so much of a stretch, is it? The media portrayed Rittenhouse as a racist murderer, of which he was neither.
DeSantis pondered whether the media’s portrayal of Rittenhouse colored Brooks’ views.
“He brought, he brought a rifle across state lines. That’s a lie. They said that the initial altercation with Jacob Blake, that Blake was unarmed. That’s a lie. They covered up Blake’s criminal history,” he said.
During the same press conference, which you can watch below, DeSantis said that he would be putting forward proposals to increase the pay and provide additional bonuses for law enforcement officers, EMTs, and first responders in his state during the next legislative session.
He insisted that the way law enforcement has been treated in recent years is a disgrace, too.
It’s no wonder he’s so popular, is it?
