Since the 46th president of the United States Joe Biden entered the oval office in January 2021, the political situation within the nation at both the domestic and international levels has been chaotic and unstable. Inflation which soared to 40 year highs in 2022 continues to cripple the struggling middle class as families grapple with a skyrocketing cost of living. Culturally, the nation is engulfed in a tense cold conflict in which conservatives and progressives battle for ideological control over educational curriculums in states across the country. Internationally, foreign adversaries of America and the western world remain emboldened as Biden continues to demonstrate incompetent and weak leadership skills, and nations like China and Russia have planned talks to strengthen their alliance in opposition to the west.
In the summer of 2021, Biden led the infamous botched withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan. 13 servicemembers died, and millions of dollars in military equipment was lost, eventually being seized by the Taliban. Currently, in a place not far from the beleaguered and now terrorist-run nation, in Azerbaijan tensions within the country are on the rise. The government of the nation reportedly commenced an ‘anti-terrorist’ initiative. In reality, the Azerbaijan military is simply targeting Armenian military locations in the Nagorno-Karabakh area. Officials both domestically and internationally worry about the possibility of another full scale conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, who have had a tumultuous history. Control over the region is disputed and is claimed by both the Azerbaijan and Armenian governments. On September 19th, reports emerged from Stepanakert, the capital city of the region that artillery fire was occurring in heavy proportions on the outskirts of the municipality.
As the war in Ukraine continues to rage, Russia recently confirmed reports that a U.S.-built missile was used in the conflict to destroy a military transport plane. The missile, known as a patriot missile, was used by Ukraine and 74 Russians perished in the incident.
