Senator Rand Paul Says Dr. Fauci May Have Caused Whole Pandemic

( Libertarian Republican Senator for Kentucky Rand Paul claimed on Tuesday that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, could have been partly responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic because of his alleged funding of viral studies in China.

During a Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee hearing on Tuesday, Senator Paul slammed Fauci’s reported funding of coronavirus studies at the Wuhan Virology Center – the institution where the COVID-19 virus is widely believed to have originated.

Paul asked Fauci, “do you still support funding of the NIH funding of the lab in Wuhan?”

It prompted Fauci to completely deny the accusations, of course.

“Senator Paul, with all due respect, you are entirely and completely incorrect that the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain of function research in the Wuhan institute,” he hit back.

Senator Paul understands otherwise, and during an episode of Rob Schmitt Tonight, he accused Fauci of being totally dishonest while speaking under oath in the hearing.

“It’s even worse than your point out. The person they hired to investigate the lab for the WHO perspective is the guy who gave the money. So NIH gave the money to EcoHealth,” Senator Paul said.

Paul described how the head of EcoHealth was tasked with investigating whether Wuhan was doing “anything inappropriate” in the lab, adding that, “if they were, then wouldn’t he be culpable?”

Senator Paul speculated that he has an interest in “smoothing things over,” while insisting that he wasn’t saying for sure that things were covered up, but that it was interesting how someone was appointed in the lien of the supply chain.

“I don’t know whether it came from the lab. But who could be culpable? Dr. Fauci could be culpable for the entire pandemic!” he said.

That’s one hell of an accusation, and one that Fauci is almost certainly going to deny.
