Star’s Admits BRUTAL Health Struggle

Kate Beckinsale, star of Pearl Harbor and the Underworld film series, posted a comment to Instagram on Monday, July 8, opening up about the medical problems that landed her in the hospital for a grueling six weeks.

The celebrity then posted a video, where she sported a skimpy pink outfit. As she donned a hair net she fired shots at some of the negativity she’s experienced from a subset of her followers, who complained that she wasn’t doing enough “age-appropriate things.” That spat was an escalation from a previous line of back-and-forth between Beckinsale and her followers about the state of her body, how she needs to do more exercises to tone her legs and backside, and other such trivia.

The conversation ultimately provoked from Beckinsale talking about a series of personal losses, the trauma of which have contributed to her physical decay. She had lost quite a lot of weight quite quickly, she said, from the stress that comes with grief. The intensity of her emotion led to a hole in her esophagus and protracted vomiting of blood. Eating was difficult, she said, and she had just come off an acting job in a film where her character was coping with the death of her father—a topic that hit uncomfortably close to home.

Beckinsale lost her stepfather Roy Battersby, who died recently, and had been a keystone in her life and emotional support network. She admitted, at one point, to coping with the extremity of the loss by making humorous prank phone calls and flashing strangers in public.

With that in mind, Beckinsale implied that she was quite justified in giving a damn what her audience thinks about the shape of her backside. Perhaps, she said, the rude commentors should worry about the states of their own backside. Beckinsale went on to suggest that the lives of those commentors—and the states of their backsides—might be improved by the use of a large pineapple as a suppository.
