Study Suggests France Will Eventually Endure “Civil War” With Islamists

France teeters on the edge of societal collapse as nearly half its citizens now fear an impending civil war due to radical Islamism and deteriorating social cohesion. The alarming survey reveals widespread anxiety about violent uprisings, attacks on government institutions, and the dangerous spread of extremist ideologies throughout French communities. How did this happen to Europe?

At a glance:

• Over 40% of French citizens believe their country is heading toward civil war amid rising Islamism

• 80% fear a “social explosion” in coming months, potentially manifesting as riots or civil unrest

• 60% doubt the government’s ability to maintain stability and security

• Radical Islam is perceived as spreading through working-class neighborhoods, prisons, schools, and sports clubs

• The far-left La France Insoumise party is viewed by over 80% as contributing to societal divisions

French Society On The Brink Of Collapse

France is facing unprecedented levels of social anxiety as citizens grow increasingly concerned about the breakdown of their society due to rising Islamism. A recent survey by Ifop for Le Figaro revealed that over 40% of French people now believe their nation is heading toward civil war.

An overwhelming 80% of respondents fear a “social explosion” will occur in the coming months, potentially in the form of riots or widespread civil unrest. The growing apprehension extends beyond general disorder, with 39% of citizens envisioning direct attacks on government institutions including the Élysée Palace or National Assembly.

The news comes following more than a decade of open borders rules that have allowed huge numbers of fake “refugees” to enter the country and claim asylum.

Public confidence in the government’s ability to maintain stability has plummeted, with 60% expressing doubt that authorities can effectively manage the growing crisis. This loss of faith in institutions comes as concerns about radical Islam’s infiltration into various aspects of French society reach critical levels.

Islamist Ideology Spreading Throughout Society

The new survey identified the spread of Islamist ideology as a primary driver of instability in France, with significant concern about its presence in working-class neighborhoods, prisons, schools, universities, and sports clubs. French citizens overwhelmingly perceive Islam as the religion most likely to harbor radical positions compared to Judaism and Catholicism.

While basic religious practices like praying and abstaining from alcohol are generally tolerated within French society, more assertive behaviors such as forcing girls to wear veils or refusing handshakes are widely viewed as radical and incompatible with French values. This growing cultural divide is exacerbating tensions throughout the country.

Political Divisions Deepen Crisis

The survey also revealed stark political divisions regarding which parties are contributing to or alleviating France’s social crisis. Over 80% of respondents view the far-left La France Insoumise party as actively worsening societal divisions, with its supporters more likely to express positive views toward radical Islam.

Surprisingly, 39% of the public now sees Marine Le Pen’s National Rally party as potentially beneficial to France’s social cohesion, despite its historically divisive reputation. This shift suggests growing mainstream support for stronger positions on national identity and immigration as traditional approaches fail to address mounting concerns.
