Ted Cruz Crowd Starts Booing Canada Prime Minister

(RepublicanInformer.com)- Texas Senator Ted Cruz addressed the Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday, speaking to literally thousands of people in the new Orlando, Florida venue.

Cruz’s speech focused on freedom, and how Democrats have infringed on American civil liberties extensively throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We find ourselves at an existential moment for our nation. What is this battle about? What are we fighting about in this nation?” he asked, before explaining that Republicans are fighting a battle between “power and liberty.”

His speech even prompted a loud round of “boos” from the audience when he referenced Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s authoritarian crackdown on protesters. The Freedom Convoy of truckers in Canada shut down the streets of Canada’s capital city of Ottawa for weeks, demanding that Trudeau ends authoritarian vaccine mandates and lockdowns. Trudeau responded by invoking the Emergencies Act, which allowed his government to seize private property and bank accounts. His government even dragged protesters and truckers off the streets.

Trudeau didn’t just get the crowd to boo Trudeau once…but twice!

Cruz’s speech almost sounded as though he was considering running for president again in 2024, but if he does, he’ll have to go up against former President Donald Trump for a second time. That didn’t work out so well last time, and it could risk the relationship he has built with him over the last four years.

Cruz is popular now and attracting praise from conservatives at CPAC, but within a year he could find himself going up against one of the most popular Republican presidents…and presidential candidates…in modern history.
