(RepublicanInformer.com)- The leader of the populist Sweden Democrats party has hit out at “green” politicians across the content who are stopping the development of nuclear power stations and aiding Vladimir Putin in the process.
Jimmie Akesson, the populist party leader, hit out at “green” politicians across the continent and revealed how their anti-nuclear policies are increasing Europe’s reliance on natural gas and oil that comes overwhelmingly from Russia.
“The option of refraining from imposing sanctions involving Russian gas and oil was, in my opinion, never a real possibility. This is because 40 per cent of Russia’s GDP comes from oil and gas exports, money that goes straight into Putin’s war chest,” Akesson wrote in an op-ed for the Expressen newspaper.
He said that the West has already financed Putin’s war chest for far too long because it was a source of cheap energy, adding that it is morally unjustifiable to continue taking oil and gas from Russia.
“With hindsight, it is about pure blood money,” he said.
Ouch.
He’s not wrong, though, is he?
His comments come as Germany announces that every single nuclear power plant in the country will be closed by the end of year, despite the country’s total dependence on natural gas from Russia.
In his op-ed, Akesson warns that the early closure of Swedish nuclear power plants, too, will aid Putin’s war in Ukraine because the country will become dependent on natural gas from Russia.
“All of this could have been stopped by Swedish politicians,” he said. “It is high time for new politicians, politicians who are not Putin’s useful idiots.”
It sounds like a lot of what he is saying translates well to American politics, too…
