Trump Caves to Pressure, Moves First Rally From “Juneteenth” to Following Day

(PresidentialWire.com)- Republicans were surprised on Friday when President Donald Trump appeared to cave to pressure from the media and left-wing activists. Trump postponed his first rally after the coronavirus lockdowns from June 19th to June 20th, citing the significance of the “Juneteenth” holiday which celebrates the abolition of the slave trade.

“We had previously scheduled our MAGA Rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for June 19th – a big deal,” Trump said in a Tweet. “Unfortunately, however, this would fall on the Juneteenth Holiday.”

Republicans had already dismissed the fake outrage about the decision to hold the rally on that date. Conservatives celebrate Juneteenth also, and holding a rally on that date didn’t stop people from celebrating it. However, Democrats took it as an opportunity to smear the president as supporting white nationalists – you know, in the way they always do because they know they can’t get away with directly calling him a white nationalist.

Senator Kamala Harris, the failed Democratic presidential candidate, even took to Twitter to say Trump was throwing a “welcome home party” for white supremacists.

President Donald Trump is presumably responding to the huge amount of racial tension right now. Democrats are taking advantage of the race riots going on, which started in the name of George Floyd but are really now just an opportunity for Antifa and BLM to cause chaos. Trump also said on Twitter than many of his African American supporters and friends “reached out to suggest that we consider changing the date out of respect for the holiday.”

The rally, which has already had more than 300,000 ticket requests, is still going ahead on June 20th instead. It will be the first MAGA rally in months, and could be the kickstart Trump needs to get poll numbers and get the campaign moving finally as state economies begin to open up again.
