(RepublicanInformer.com)- During an hour-long interview on Fox’s “Hannity” Tuesday night, former President Donald Trump revealed that Kyle Rittenhouse and his mother had come to Mar-a-Lago to visit with him after his acquittal.
Trump told Hannity Rittenhouse called and asked if he could come down to Florida to meet Trump “because he was a fan.”
Calling Rittenhouse “a really good young guy,” Trump said the 18-year-old never should’ve been put through the trial in the first place. “That was prosecutorial misconduct,” Trump added. He said if Rittenhouse hadn’t pulled the trigger, he would have been killed.
The former president slammed the American corporate news media for peddling misinformation in their coverage of the Rittenhouse trial. Calling them “the enemy of the people,” Trump said the divisions in the country could heal if the media would stop fomenting those divisions. “It’s corrupt what they do,” Trump told Hannity.
But Trump believes that the American people are beginning to wise up to just how corrupt the fake news media have become.
Shortly after the verdict, Trump released a statement congratulating Kyle Rittenhouse for his acquittal, adding “if that’s not self-defense, nothing is!”
Shortly after the verdict, Rittenhouse’s lead defense attorney Mark Richards told reporters that Kyle and his family are not likely to remain in the area because it has gotten “too dangerous” for him. He told reporters that Rittenhouse must be allowed to get on with his life and regain some level of anonymity.
In his interview with Tucker Carlson on Monday night, Kyle Rittenhouse echoed Richards remarks, telling Tucker what he wants is to be able to return to a normal life. He told Tucker that he hopes to go into nursing or perhaps become a lawyer.
Whether the American corporate news media will allow Kyle to return to living a normal life remains to be seen. They aren’t likely to leave him alone anytime soon.
