(RepublicanInformer.com)- According to a new report from Politico, the Trump administration instructed the Department of Homeland Security to investigate evidence of voter fraud that occurred in the 2020 presidential election. The order was made, however, some seven months before the election took place.
What does that mean? Well, to far-left Democrats, it means that Trump invented a conspiracy designed to make it easier for him to “overthrow democracy.” The truth, however, is quite different, with the evidence suggesting that the Trump administration was aware of efforts across many swing states to sway election results through coordinated fraud and misconduct.
Former Attorney General of Virginia Ken Cuccinelli, an ally of the former president, asked a senior official from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis to look into evidence of potential voter fraud in relation to mass mail-in voting. The request was made earlier in spring, 2020, and came at a time when the issue of mail-in voting was causing widespread concern about voting irregularities.
Politico cited a document it had obtained and reviewed and said that a follow-up directive to the DHS included a specific focus on mail-in voting. Workers in the department were told to investigate voter intimidation, efforts to hack voting machines, and more. The idea was to do everything possible to prevent voter fraud from impacting the results of the 2020 presidential election…though many would argue that these efforts simply didn’t work.
Politico reported that DHS employees were told to investigate possible “attempts to alter, destroy, sell, or hide mail-in ballots.”
Cuccinelli didn’t give Politico any of his time – which sounds like it was a wise decision – but a former co-worker of the former Trump administration official snarkily responded to questions from Politico on the matter.
“How dare a political appointee give work to the agency he oversees?” the former co-worker said.
Good point, right?
Politico desperately wants people to think that this is evidence of fraud in favor of the Trump administration, but what their report actually shows is that former President Donald Trump takes voter fraud seriously and did all that he could to prevent it.
