(RepublicanInformer.com)- During a Saturday rally, former President Donald Trump took a victory lap over Friday’s Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade.
Trump was in Mendon, Illinois Saturday evening holding a rally for Tuesday’s Illinois primary when he opened his speech by celebrating the Court’s decision, calling it a “victory for the Constitution,” the rule of law, and “a victory for life.”
Trump congratulated the “generations” of pro-life and conservative Americans, adding that their “boundless love, sacrifice, and devotion” has finally been “rewarded in full.”
The former president reminded the crowd that the end of Roe happened because he kept his 2016 campaign promise to nominate pro-life judges to the courts.
Finally, Trump thanked the conservative justices for having the “courage” to send abortion back to the states and the voters, adding that this is what should have happened “many, many years ago.”

The crowd broke into chants of “Thank you, Trump.”
The former president summed up his remarks on Roe by reiterating that every child, “born and unborn is the sacred gift from God.”
