Trump’s “Truth Social” May Actually Beat Big Tech, Report Suggests

(RepublicanInformer.com)- Former President Donald Trump has officially launched his “TRUTH Social” app, a Twitter alternative that won’t discriminate against users based on their political views.

It’s caused a lot of anger among the top tech websites – most of which lean left – but even tech journalists who don’t like the former president are admitting that Trump’s network is likely to succeed.

“Trump’s Truth Social app can’t beat Twitter, but it doesn’t have to,” tech site The Verge notes.

Writer Makena Kelly noted that the app is available to download on the Apple App Store and is currently at the top of the Apple download charts…even though the app “remains totally unusable.”

As it stands, most of the hundreds of thousands of people who have signed up to use the app are still on a waiting list and still unable to access the app’s features.

“Even if you were able to secure a username, it’s likely you’ve been placed on an over 300,000 person waitlist to even start posting your “truths” — Trump language for “tweets,’” Kelly noted.

Kelly also pointed out that anybody who thinks Trump is trying to replace Twitter should think again, adding that TRUTH Social marketed itself to investors not just as a way to beat the Big Tech monopolies but also as an “opportunity to galvanize/unify the fragmented ‘non-Big Tech universe.” In other words, Trump may be appealing to his voters and the people already using social media platforms that aren’t run by Apple and Google.

And maybe that’s all he needs.

Devin Nunes, the CEO of the Trump Media & Technology Group, said that the app will be fully operations sometime in March.
