United Nations Predicts Climate “Time Bomb”… Again

(Republicaninformer.com)- The United Nations-backed Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a new synthesis report warning that the earth is approaching catastrophic warming levels unless radical action is taken immediately.

Drawing on the findings of hundreds of researchers, the IPCC report is designed to provide a comprehensive climate change assessment. Unsurprisingly, the report paints a dire picture, filled with apocalyptic fearmongering typical of the IPCC.

According to the report, humans have already done irreversible damage to the planet as emissions from fossil fuels and other warming activities have already increased the average global temperatures by 1.1 degrees Celsius and the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere higher than it has ever been.

The report warns that the earth will pass the threshold for dangerous temperature increases in ten years which would push the planet into catastrophic warming unless first-world countries destroy their economies by moving away from fossil fuels.

According to the report, if the earth’s temperature warms by 1.5 degrees Celsius in the next ten years, the resulting climate disasters will be so extreme that humans will be unable to adapt. The IPCC claims that millions will die due to famine and infectious diseases by the end of the 21st Century.

The report calls on wealthy nations to bear the responsibility to quickly act to “transition” away from fossil fuels to stop the climate apocalypse the IPCC claims is coming.

In a statement on Monday, UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned that the earth’s climate “time bomb is ticking” leaving humanity on “thin ice” that is “melting fast.”

Secretary-General Guterres called on emerging economies like India and China to hasten their net-zero goals. Currently, China claims it will reach net zero by 2060 while India seeks to reach net zero by 2070.

Guterres also echoed the IPCC, calling for countries to phase out coal, oil, and natural gas.
